Lebanese Sweets

Lebanese Desserts in Business Bay Dubai — Kunafa, Baklawa & Sweets Made In-House

Lebanese desserts are not the afterthought they are at most restaurants. They are the reason people linger. The reason a table that was planning to leave at 10PM is still there at midnight.

Our Signature

Kunafa

Warm kataifi pastry layered over a generous filling of stretchy, lightly salted cheese — akkawi or nabulsi depending on availability — soaked in orange blossom sugar syrup and finished with crushed pistachios. AMOO kunafa is cooked to order. This means it takes longer than it would if we kept it warm in a tray. It also means every order arrives at the table crisp on top, molten in the middle, and exactly as it was intended to be eaten.

If you leave AMOO without ordering the kunafa, you have made a mistake that is worth correcting on your next visit.

Ashta Cream

Lebanese clotted cream — thicker than double cream, richer than ricotta — perfumed with orange blossom water and rose water, layered or served alongside warm bread or pastry. Ashta is the cream of the Lebanese dessert tradition. When it is made properly, it is incomparable. We make it properly.

Baklawa

Thin phyllo layers, clarified butter brushed between each one, filled with ground pistachios, walnuts, or a mix, baked until golden and soaked in a light rose water or orange blossom syrup. Our baklawa is made in-house in the traditional Lebanese diamond-cut format. The pistachio version is the one to order.

Muhallabieh

Milk pudding perfumed with rose water and orange blossom, thickened with corn flour to a silky, trembling consistency, topped with crushed pistachios. Light, delicate, and the dessert to order when you have eaten well and want something that will not compete with the meal you just finished.

Seasonal Sweets

Our desserts menu includes a rotating selection of seasonal Lebanese sweets — ma'amoul (date-filled shortbread) around Eid, ma'amoul mold variations, sfoof (turmeric and anise cake), and other pieces from the broader Lebanese sweets repertoire. Ask your server for the current selection.

Desserts and the AMOO Experience

The Natural End of a Lebanese Evening

The Lebanese meal does not end when the grill arrives. It ends when the kunafa is finished and the coffee cups are empty. AMOO is designed for the full arc — from the first manakish at breakfast to the last ashta in the evening. Our desserts are not available separately from the experience. They are part of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know

What Lebanese desserts does AMOO serve?

AMOO serves kunafa (cooked to order), ashta cream, baklawa (made in-house), muhallabieh, and a rotating selection of seasonal Lebanese sweets. All made in-house daily — no pre-made or frozen items.

Is the kunafa at AMOO made fresh?

Yes — our kunafa is assembled and cooked to order. This means it takes slightly longer than a pre-made version, but arrives at the table crisp, hot, and with a molten cheese centre.

Can I order desserts without ordering a main course?

Yes — you can visit AMOO for desserts and coffee or tea at any point during our opening hours (7AM–2AM). The dessert menu is available all day.

Does AMOO serve desserts during the shisha session?

Yes — the full desserts menu is available in the shisha lounge. Many guests pair warm kunafa or ashta with their shisha session.
